From 1942 till 1945 Japan occupied the Netherlands East Indies (Indonesia), a former Dutch colony. The Dutch population was imprissoned in civilian internment camps. This work was commissioned in the Netherlands for a oral history project, presented in the form of a website, where 25 men and women recall their childhood memories of live in the camps.
